Privacy Policy

The short version

This app collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We never receive any of your information: your progress stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account.

What is stored, and where

The app saves a small amount of data so it can remember where you left off:

your answers, lesson results, saved questions, study time, daily streak and practice-exam scores
your settings: language, license class, age group, English translation on or off, appearance, reminder time and test date
any official DMV handbook PDF you choose to download for offline reading

It lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad. If iCloud is on for the app, your progress is also kept in the app's private iCloud database under your Apple Account, so your devices stay in step: Apple stores it, and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes the copy on that device, and the app's "Reset progress" option clears your progress.

Network use

The app works offline. It uses the network only in these cases:

you tap a link to official DMV material, which opens a page on dmv.ca.gov inside the app
you tap "Download for offline reading", which downloads the handbook PDF from dmv.ca.gov
iCloud syncs your progress between your devices, through Apple, if iCloud is on for the app
you buy or restore a subscription, through Apple's App Store

None of these requests come to us: the app talks to no server of ours, and we receive no data. The DMV's own privacy practices apply to its site, and Apple's to iCloud and the App Store; we never see your payment details.

Notifications

If you switch on the optional daily study reminder, iOS will ask for notification permission and the reminder is scheduled locally on your device. No push server is involved and we cannot see it.

AI tutor

The study assistant uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. Your questions and its answers are processed on the device and are not sent anywhere.

Children

The app is rated 12+ on the App Store and suits teens preparing for a learner's permit. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no data, any change would be a clarification rather than a new use of your information.
